About
The Olde Forge Hotel and Restaurant, once the home of a nineteenth century blacksmith, still maintains its original open fires and timber beams. The hotel, with all its charm and character, offers guests the opportunity to escape from the busy stresses of everyday life. Set in the heart of the Wealden countryside near Hailsham, East Sussex, the hotel is close to many National Trust properties, historic castles and glorious gardens. Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters are also within easy reach of the hotel as well.
Dogs Welcome
Here at The Olde Forge Hotel we welcome dogs with open arms. We have two dogs living here at the hotel with us so understand how difficult it is to go away for a short break and leave them either at home or in kennels. You are welcome to bring two well-behaved and house-trained dogs per room. We can’t provide dog beds, but we have bowls and blankets you can use and also dog food available on request. There is a small charge per dog per night.
Accommodation
The Olde Forge Hotel offers 8 comfortable bedrooms, all with en-suite / private bathrooms. The accommodation comprises of 5 double rooms, 1 single room, 1 twin room and a room with either a king size or twin beds.
Although our bedrooms are not on the “large size”, they have all been tastefully decorated and have a remote control smart flat screen tv, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryers, heaters and silent fans. For those people unable to switch off from their busy lives we also have free superfast enhanced broadband wi-fi throughout the hotel.

All our meals are cooked fresh to order using locally sourced supplies wherever possible. Whether it’s just bed and breakfast for one night, a weekend or possibly even longer, you will be sure of a welcoming and comfortable stay.
